How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Think about a major storm with inches of rain falling by the minute and winds gusting around. Think about a 1,000 year old oak tree. Those don't go together well.

And that's why we decided to hide a geocache here. This oak tree was severely damaged in a 1997 storm and removed, except for its stump, which is part of the Los Angeles Historical Cultural Monument number 24. The coordinates will bring you to a rock with a plaque. Follow the path to the cache and the stump.

Please do not pick apart the stump. It is not even necessary to touch or sit on the stump. As always, please put the geocache back where you found it. Cache may be in a different location than previously placed.
