Join us for a great CITO event. There will be great hiking, OK company, And Great Views. you get all this while helping to clean up the area for future cachers and all sportsmen and women alike.
We will meet at Strathmore Paper at 9:30 a.m where you can work on a puzzle with fellow geocachers while we work on handing out out some CITO kits to everyone in attendance. We should hopefully be able to start our short but steep journey to the summit around 10:00 A.M. (4-4.5 Terrain) .
There are a few caches on the way that we can stop for and their spaced out well so you get plenty of breathers on the way up.
Our main goal will be to clean up all the trash at a campsite near the summit. It is littered with trash from parties and campers. After this area is cleaned up we will head down the new Sawbreaker powertrail and do some CITO on the main trail.
The trail we will be taking will be a nice level but wet and rocky hike (2.5-3.0) terrain. We will grab as much trash as we can out on the trails while still trying to be back to the parking area by 5-ish so that Jawbreaker1222 and Sawdust11 can get some eats at Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Westfield around 6:00 P.M you are all welcome to join. (on your own dime of course, Sorry!)
Families are welcome to come help out with the event as well but please keep in mind that it is very steep to the summit so the littlest ones should probably sit this one out.
Please post a "will attend" log and let us know how many people are in your party so we can have an idea of how many people to expect. We will provide the group with Trash bags and Nitral gloves. For everything else your on your own.
