There are two ways to reach this cache, a short but more difficult bushwhack or a longer but easy and more scenic trail. Either way entails a stream crossing which maybe impossible after a heavy rain. It is a small stream though and the water drops quickly so the day after a heavy rain it will be passable.
Geologists tells us that millions of years ago this part of the Midwest was part of a shallow sea. Millions of animals now extinct lived here, and their little fossilized shells are plentiful in the limestone rocks that make up the stream bed. I still enjoy picking up the rocks and seeing what fossils I can find, and I hope you will to. I once found a fossilized tooth, and my brother in law found some Indian beads, so feel free to linger and look around for some interesting ones.
