We just happened to be in the area - TWICE. Don't ask!!
As noted above, the trail is a very nice paved pathway for
hiking or biking. Fairly flat, just a gradual incline of about 250
feet in the 4 miles one-way. Best parking at N34°14.463,
W117°52.059. If that's full, try across the bridge, or back down a
quater mile or so. Rest rooms (vault type) at the trail head. You
WILL need to display a US Forest Service Adventure Pass (daily or
annual). Ranger station on the way, or any Sports Chalet / many
sports stores. They DO check (ask Ranboze!).
Fishing along the way is supposed to be good. It is a special
fishing area - bring barbless hooks - "catch & release" only
(now get the cache name?). The rest of the cache name will be
obvious when you get there.
The cache is protected from casual sight by typical cammo &
"geo-signs" using native material. Only one or at most two steps
off the pavement - no more!
