Geocache Description:

Canoe multicache 4.5 km round trip roughly or about 2 hours for an experienced paddler/cacher.

Octopus Lake is a hidden gem that very few paddlers know or experience. Put in at the coordinates shown below along secondary road 262 east of Onanole. This is a three stage multi with engraved metal tags for the first two stages and a ammo can container for the final. The tour takes you around the head of the Octopus and along a couple tentacles.

It is a waterfowl paradise and wildlife observed while placing the cache included: loons, Canada geese, ring-necked ducks, blue-winged teal, canvasbacks, muskrat, beaver, hooded mergansers, mallards, goldeneyes, tree swallows, pileated woodpeckers and more.

The cache contains FTF Certificate, a DU mulitool with case for FTF prize, and a few trading items. Enjoy the paddle around Octopus.

This cache was created to add to the number of QUALITY caches hidden in Manitoba. It is an official BLITZ cache for the May Madness event. Hope you enjoy the hunt!
