Geocache Description:

The Haunted Hollow VI

A Geocaching Event

Celebrating Michigan’s
Lighthouses and Shipwrecks
At
Sleepy Hollow State Park
Saturday, August 16, 2014

This Geocaching Event is to celebrate all of Michigan’s Lighthouses and Shipwrecks.  From the smallest lighthouse to the largest shipwreck.  As you travel the hiking trails in Sleepy Hollow State Park you will encounter many of Michigan’s creatures in their natural surroundings. So keep your eyes open and help celebrate Michigan’s great heritage.

We will be gathering at 9 a.m. at the South Beach Pavilion to give out event cache coordinates, draw for first-to-find rights and prizes.    At least 40 caches will be placed for this event, all located within the park.  All caches will be lock & lock or type containers and will vary in size and difficulty.  Special kids caches were such a great hit in the past, so we are bringing them back this year.  A total of at least 6 event caches will be placed for Micro-Cachers only.  They will all be placed near the main event area.

Coffee and donuts will be provided for the morning gathering. Following a day of caching, we will gather back at the pavilion at 1 p.m. for a potluck lunch and a chance to share the day’s adventures with each other.  Please bring a large dish to pass and your own beverage.  We have decided not to assign groups of people to bring specific dishes.  Instead we want you to bring your favorite dish.  Please post a note to the event to let us know how many are in your group so we have plenty of hot dogs.  Also include what you will be bringing so we won’t have all of one dish.
(NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED)
HOT DOGS, PLATES, NAPKINS AND TABLE SERVICE WILL BE
PROVIDED
