Geocache Description:

Guapulo

Guapulo is a quaint & bohemian part of Quito. Definitely worth a visit to see the beautiful church with its elaborate pulpit, classed amongst the finest in South America. There are great views across the valley of Tumbaco and on clear days the snow-capped Cayambe Volcano can be seen. The main road (Camino de Orellana) is the path taken by Orellana as he left Quito to discover the Amazon River.

To reach the cache follow the road which leads behind the church on the left hand side as you are looking at it. At the first junction turn right and at the next turn left. Walk under the line of leafy trees and you will come to a flight of steps. Now it's time to climb.... (but don't worry - not too far!)
