The Cache was removed temporarily because of a note that a wall has been damaged close to the cache area. The cache owner is returning to the country on June 18th and will have the cache active again from the 20th June. Sorry for any inconvenience - caused once again by other than cachers.
Log book replaced 16 - 11 - 09
The trail is a disused single track railway running from Buxton in the North to Ashbourne in the South. The trail has been made into an all weather track suitable for cyclists and walkers. The gentle gradient makes it suitable for small children and buggies.
A layby (with tea stop) to the East of the A515 close to Rivendale Campsite is a good place to park if you want to do this cache as a driveby.
There are many other caches in the area which could enable you to make this cache part of a lerger multi-cache walking route.
Tissington Village is definitely worth a visit whilst you are in the area with cafes serving delicious cream teas.
