É com grande felicidade que volto a activar a "Lost Lagoon". Quero deixar um agradecimento muito especial ao Nuno Pedrosa e sua mulher, pela cortesia, atenção e disponibilidade que ofereceram na colocação e reactivação da cache (agora em local mais seguro). Esta cache, é por isso, mais deles do que minha. Muito Obrigado!!
A cache encontra-se no coração da Serra do Gerês, num local chamado "Aproveitamento Hidroeléctrico do Cabril". As novas coordenadas são agora: N 41º 45,499; W 08º 01,574.
Para lá chegar a partir da N103, deverá virar à esquerda na direcção da "Barragem de Salamonde" e Fafião (se vier de Oeste). Deverá continuar até atravessar a localidade de Cabril e alguns kms depois, seguindo a mesma estrada, passar perto de Xertelo (mas não para Xertelo). A partir desse ponto são mais uns 6 kms (sem grande precisão) antes de chegar a uma pequena ponte (N 41º 46.670, W 007 59.712 - coordenadas amavelmente cedidas por "caixeiros"). Mesmo antes da ponte existe uma estrada/trilho em terra em más condições. Deverá seguir por essa estrada durante uns 6 kms, conduzindo a aproximadamente 10/20 km/h (com cuidado a passar as valas), isto claro, se não estiver de jipe.
A primeira visão, do lado esquerdo, será uma sequência de pequenas lagoas dispersas em linha e em diferentes níveis de altitude. As lagoas de cima passam a água para as de baixo e assim sucessivamente.
Para descer até às lagoas deverá usar calçado apropriado, tal como botas ou ténis/sapatilhas. É uma zona muito rochosa, e em algumas zonas pode ser um pouco escorregadio (principalmente no inverno). Procure o melhor trilho para descer... não é difícil.
A cache encontra-se perto de uma das lagoas. O geocacher deverá usar o GPS e tentar encontrar a "Lost Lagoon".
O local é muito bonito, sugiro que desçam até às lagoas mais abaixo... cada qual tem a sua beleza particular.
A cache é um tupperware de tamanho médio.
Não se esqueçam de levar toalha e fato de banho. A água é um pouco fria, mas vale bem a pena.

"Lost Lagoon" is back!! I want to express my gratitude to Nuno Pedrosa and his wife, for the courtesy, worry and availability in the placement and re-activation of the cache (now in a safer place). This cache belongs therefore to them. Thank You!!
The new coordinates are: N 41º 45,499; W 08º 01,574.
The cache is located in the heart of the "Serra do Gerês", in a place called "Aproveitamento Hidroeléctrico do Cabril".
To get there you can take the N103 and turn left in the direction of "Barragem de Salamonde" and Fafião (if you come from the west side). You should then cross Cabril and some kms after, following the same road, pass near Xertelo (but NOT to Xertelo). From that point it's just some 6 kms (I cannot be precise) before you find a very small bridge in the road (N 41º 46.670, W 007 59.712 - coordinates sent by "caixeiros"). Just before the bridge there is a small road/track to the left in bad condition. You should go along that road/track during 6 tiring kms of driving at about 10/20 km an hour (unless you are using a jeep).
Your first sight (to the left) will be a sequence of beautiful small lagoons dispersed evenly in a line at different levels.
To go to the lagoons you should use appropriate shoes, like boots or tenis... it's very rocky and in some places a little sleepery, be careful. Find the best downhill track to descend. It's not difficult.
The cache is located close to one of the lagoons. It's your task to use the GPS and find which one is the "Lost Lagoon".
The place is gorgeous, and I strongly suggest you visit the lagoons further down... each one has its magic and beauty.
The cache is a medium size tupperware.
I hope you get to find it and cheer the moment surrounded by the extreme beauty of the place.
Don't forget to take your bathing suit and towel. The water is a bit cold, but believe me, it's worth it!
