Seriously, arachnophobes should not seek this cache . . . and,
forgive me, it is a micro, a container I found in a cache in MTRP.
The distance to the cache is less than a mile. Please bring a
pen.
After hiking to the nearby
Carveacre Wind Caves cache with duganrm, I walked over to this
large area of slickrock and
marveled at the views of Cuyamaca Peak and Gaskill Peak and
even Point Loma in the distance.
Cuyamaca Peak framed by huge boulders
I placed this cache to bring cachers to this location to see the
fantastic views in all directions. There are more pictures of the
area
here.
Access to the cache is from Carveacre Road which winds south
from Japatul Valley Road southeast of Alpine. Take Gaskill Peak
Road to Lost Trail to the parking turnout at N 32° 45.263 W 116°
42.434.
From there, the trail can be difficult to follow, however if you
walk towards N 32° 45.276 W 116° 42.514 to the southwest, over all
the chipped brush, you will find a newly-created, odd, and
sometimes-funny dirt track that eventually leads you to the
well-established trail. The main trail continues near N 32° 45.209
W 116° 42.511.
