Welcome to Racine County Sanders Park.
This park features a marked nature trail through a 20 acre
designated State Scientific area. There is also a 5 acre
campground, athletic facilities and picnic areas. The picnic
shelter has an open hearth fireplace and is set amid the parks
natural foliage.
Sanders Park is open from Sunrise to Sunset.
This area is patrolled by the local law enforcement, so please
adhere to the posted hours.
The outer loop road is closed during the winter
months.
Parking is available during the Winter at the entrance to the park
in the Parking lot. During the Summer there is parking off of the
outer loop road nearby.
You are hunting for a small camoed cache that contains a Logbook,
Pencil and a spare ziploc. Please bring your own pen/pencil just in
case and please replace exactly as you found it
The cache can hold small tradeables, TB's and coins.
The area near the cache is uneven and strewn with fallen trees, so
watch your step.
As always during the summer months Skeeters are abundant, so plan accordingly.
This Park sees alot of visitors during the Summer so use stealth as
required.
During the Winter months it is approximately a .2 mile walk. There
is a paved road to within a few hundred feet of the cache. There is
no trail near or to the cache so please plan your route
carefully.
The cache is hidden on the outside of the outer loop road.
The inside of the outer loop road is a State Scientific area. If you have time take a
stroll through this area and take in the scenery.
I have permission from Racine County Parks and Rec. to place caches
in the Park.
While in the area be sure to visit the other caches in the Park and
Petrifying Springs Park (PETS) nearby.
