Don't park on the main road, use the nearby country lane. Busy with fast traffic and a blind bend. A well formed path with bridges, etc. once in the wood. The Annick Water runs beside the site.
A lovely small wood with wild flowers - Dog's Mercury, Primrose, Bluebells, Red Campion and another very rare Black Poplar (Only around 1500 trees in the UK) not native up here, so someone planted it.
If you take children or dogs then beware the road; ok once in the wood. The Annick Water is dangerous, like any other river, when in spate.
A mill existed across the holm for hundreds of years and the ruins are still discernable. Fairliecrevoch was an ancient barony. Scroaggy is the Scots for Crab apple and they still grow here. See Cunninghamhead, Perceton and AnnickLodge on Wikipedia for the history of the area.
Please replace camouflage carefully.
