Il Lago di Osiglia è un bacino artificiale, realizzato in seguito alla costruzione della diga dell’Osiglietta tra il 1937 e il 1939. Esso costituisce il maggior invaso d’acqua dolce della Provincia di Savona ed è riserva turistica di pesca.
Durante la sua costruzione una parte del paese venne sommersa. Quando, per ragioni di manutenzione, il bacino viene prosciugato, le antiche rovine riaffiorano offrendo uno spettacolo unico.
Il lago ha una superficie molto estesa, con una lunghezza di 3 Km, una larghezza alla diga di quasi 200 m e una capacità d’invaso di 13 milioni di metri cubi d’acqua.
Il Lago di Osiglia, completamente inserito nel contesto naturalistico e ambientale che lo circonda, è attraversato in senso trasversale a metà circa della sua lunghezza, da un ponte chiamato “Ponte di Manfrin” dal nome del suo progettista ,che consente l’accesso ad una piccola frazione abitata.
Oggi il Lago di Osiglia ospita manifestazioni sportive anche a livello nazionale (canoa), oltre a gare di pesca e ad altre iniziative in collaborazione con le associazioni sportive locali e nazionali.
Osiglia Lake is an artificial reservoir , created by the construction of the dam dell'Osiglietta between 1937 and 1939 . It constitutes the largest reservoir of fresh water in the Province of Savona and is a tourist reserve fishing .
During its construction a part of the village was submerged . When , for reasons of maintenance , the basin is drained , the ancient ruins resurface offering a unique spectacle.
The lake has a very large surface , with a length of 3 km, a width of about 200 m and the dam of a reservoir capacity of 13 million cubic me ters of water.
Osiglia Lake , fits perfectly into the nature and environment that surrounds it, is traversed in a direction transverse to about half of its length, by a bridge called Bridge Manfrin named after its designer, which allows access to a small populated district .
Today, the Osiglia Lake host sporting events at the national level (canoe) , in addition to fishing competitions and other initiatives in collaboration with local and national sports associations .
