Geocache Description:

The Lockwood House is one of the oldest homes in Sparta Township, having been constructed about 1745. The construction reflects the common early design, with horizontal slits for the second floor windows, and known as a saltbox house because of the resemblance to that apparatus in the side view silhouette. The house barely escaped destruction in the late 1990's and was moved by rollers down the Sparta Avenue from its original location near the Brick House. (source: Sparta Historical Society).

The cache is placed a distance from the house as to not place on private property. It is a small micro cache with only a log and pencil. Depending on your approach, it may be very difficult to discover. Watch where you park and use your stealth as lots of people will see you here.

Good Luck!
