Geocache Description:

Not far off the gravel road. Please put it back in place and cover it with vegetation when you leave.

In the afternoon of May 11, 2000 while I was squirreled away at school working on something, unbenounced to me, the north end of Waterloo was experiencing one of the largest tornadoes ever to pass this way. And I missed it!! Good thing I didn’t know about though, I might have given chase. I can just hear myself, “Uh honey, you see those dents in our NEW car are from the hail stones that hit it while……”

This micro was planted by my son "Lycan" and myself is located in the very track where the mighty tornado passed over Moline Rd. Notice the condition of the metal post that the cache is attached to. The trees near by may still show some evidence of the event. One mile to the west the trees along the fencerow still show the force of the winds that passed over them. I know of two houses and a barn that was smashed in the Wloo CF area. A little north on the west side of Moline Rd, trapped in the trees are still some remnants of metal sheeting blown off of something.

This website is about this particular tornado. Here it was on CNN.
