Geocache Description:

Caution  Warning  Danger

This is a highline.  It is a one inch cable stretched across the St Louis River.  The geocache is attached to the "car" roughly 200 feet out from shore and about 20 feet above the middle of the river.

It might be higher, the wind was blowing rather hard and causing the basket to sway which affected my calibrated eyeball.  The container is a big peanut butter jar protected by a 4" PVC sleeve.  The top just pops off, try not to loose it.

The arrow points at the container which is secured to the "car".  In order to gain access to the log book you will probably need to get in the car.  I would suggest having a plan to transition from highline to car before you launch.  One last note, your name in the log book is required, there are two pencils there so that shouldn't be an issue.  Smears of blood or streaks of charcoal are not acceptable log entries.  I will be checking, mainly because it's a lot of fun to ride the line.

This was inspired by a cache in Des Moines, Iowa called Tightrope Rider.  I was told of its existence and was asked for assistance to get the little beastie.  One look at that and I knew what that I was finally going to put one out here.   I looked at this when I put out Circular Reasoning in 2005.  Tightrope Rider was just under a hundred feet and I knew this would be farther than that.  Oh joy, oh joy, keep my feet from dancing.

I have marked the coordinates for the launch pad.  Bring your gear, your crew, your camera, and some travel bugs for this one because I guarantee you'll have a story to tell before you're done.
