Geocache Description:

No it's not a reference to anything anatomical but the three names of the Hiders, Tratty and VWNuts from Queensland and The Bronze from Dubbo / Newcastle.

Hidden in the transgressive sanddunes of Stockton beach, Tratty's Bronzed Nuts is a regular cache hidden at the base of a regular tree in a dune system behind an irregular township.

Tin city (See related page link above) is a collection of 7 tin shacks located in the sea spray and sand dunes of Stockton. The Irony of their existance is they were settled to get away from the populations of the coast as you need a 4WD (or Awesome 2WD) for beach access. However through the internet and tourism it is not uncommon now to see 5 or 6 tourist vehicles parked in the dunes nearby with their bounty with stretching their legs on the dunes to take photos and point at the residents way of living.

The cache itself is an after thought. Nothing spectacular within and kids will be disappointed as we didn't have kids toys with us. Althought we did find a container that should survive the conditions, a pen and a note pad. (Log only cache with room for TB's and coins)

If your planning to access this cache you have a couple of choices. You can hike it from Lavis Lane, Williamtown or From Anna Bay. It's a long but spactular walk. Bring plenty of water and food and allow at least 5 to 6 hours. Don't take your nanna or kids, you will need to be fit. Alternatively you can take a 4WD (or Awesome 2WD) and access it on your way past.

As geocaching is about "The Journey" you will love what Stockton have to offer.
