Welcome to the first ever Brantford Parks & Rec sponsored Geocaching Event!
The purpose of this event is to help integrate new geocachers into the world of geocaching events. We know that it can sometimes seem intimidating when attending events for the first time, so we would like to provide an event where experienced geocachers can encourage new geocachers to come out and join in the Phun, Photos, and maybe even a Phoon or two!
This event will be held at the T. B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre, located at 16 Morrell Street in Brantford, on Saturday, October 13, 2012. This event will run from 1-5:00 p.m.
EVENT ACTIVITIES
1-1:30p.m.
- sign log book and play icebreaker game
1:30-2:30 p.m.
- panel of experienced geocachers will answer questions, and provide advice aimed to assist new geocachers
2:30-2:45 p.m.
- Photo-mania activity explained
2:45-4 p.m.
- Photo-mania activity (You must be back by 4 p.m. SHARP for your pictures to be included in the judging!)
4-5:00 p.m.
- Upload pictures to be judged
- Group Photo
- Prizes (You must be present to claim a prize if your name is drawn.)
Winning pictures will be uploaded to the event page for all to see!
WHAT TO BRING
- Water will be provided
- GPS
- Camera or cell phone AND cord for uploading pictures to PC
- Dry clothes :) (oh yeh . . . we live and play near the Grand River!)
- Proper footwear
- Lawn Chairs
