This is an event with a setting that has beautiful panoramic views of the High Sierras. It will be held at the Minaret Vista parking lot, in Mammoth Lakes. A no frills (BYO, but I'll have a cooler of drinks and some snacks to share.) get together to BS about geocaching and the finer points of this area for a few hours and maybe trade some travel bugs. (I might just have a yellow jeep, but that remains to be seen.)
Let's start this thing around 10:00ish. I should be there a little early though. The event will go on until everyone decides it's done or we move it on down to one of the local establishments like Berger's, or Matsu's, or Slocum's etc. Howz that?
I would love to meet all the local cachers and any others who happen to be in the area that day. (I hope to see Jessie Girl + Kathy and the pups & Fossillady again and those with whom I have been in contact recently.)
Another reason for holding this event is to see if anyone is interested in a mass assault on my Off-road Adventure Cache Series. Maybe to also pair up those who may not be able to access these "5 Star" caches for lack of equipment with those who have room to spare. So far the series has only been completed by two distinguished cachers, Ranboze and bthomas. The Bonus cache was renamed for them and their (Ranboze actually, it's a long story.) FTF time of 10 hours and 50 minutes. The assault would take place on the day following this event. (7/18/04)
