COMBAT! Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Gator Man: It is with great regret that I announce that SEVEN YEARS, THREE MONTH and NINE DAYS after [green]COMBAT![/green] was published, the mission is over. The area where it was placed has just become too civilized, and current projects will keep it offline for way too long. (It has currently been disabled for over a year, and there is no end in sight to the "Improvements" being made in this part of the natural area.)

Thanks to all who completed the COMBAT! Mission! I will be awaiting a call from Groundspeak, requesting the logbook, which reads like a "Who's Who" of Florida Geocaching, for their Geocaching Museum!

I will be placing the "Saving Private Gatormeister" TB in an appropriate geocache soon.

Geocache Description:

JUNO DUNES NATURAL AREA. Pine Flatwoods - Cactus - Scrub Oak - Saw Palmetto - Water Obstacles - Saw Grass - Critters. ENJOY!

THE LISTED COORDINATES AREN'T FOR THIS CACHE!
THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A LAKE.
If you accept this mission, you will need to use all of your skills DECIPHERING CODES, completing challenging RECON missions, FOLLOWING ORDERS and finally, having enough grit and determination left for the ATTACK to achieve THE OBJECTIVE.

Geocaching in South Florida often seems like a combat mission, especially in summer and for caches requiring long hikes. Well as they say "You ain't seen nothing yet!" This adventure might seem like a real combat mission before you are done - but instead of fighting a human enemy, yours will be the critters, spiny plants, terrain and devious minds of the two persons who created this monster for your amusement.

COMPLETING THIS CACHE WILL NOT BE A WALK IN THE WOODS!

Dress appropriately, some of these plants WANT you. Long pants are a MUST. In the summer you will also be fighting deer flies, mosquitoes, heat and humidity.

Make sure you are well prepared for this mission, with a full day's supply of water, plenty of grub, and perhaps a cell phone to call for help if you need to be rescued. Don't even think of calling in an air strike - you are on your own in this mission!

DECIPHERING THE CODE
The following clues each will identify a location in enemy territory that is vital to the success of this mission. It is presented in an old USA military code. Good luck ground pounder; you have two recon missions to accomplish to get things started!

2. RECON
Using the information you have obtained from the decoded messages above, infiltrate enemy territory and without being noticed, retrieve the critical intelligence from each location.
3. After that, you are set to start your combat mission. There are SIX more stages to complete. You will communicate with a THREE STAR GENERAL several times, encounter BARBED WIRE, launch your ATTACK and find THE OBJECTIVE. AT ALL STAGES THERE IS PAPERWORK TO COMPLETE AND REPORTING TO BE DONE. Hope you brought plenty of provisions, after this you have to make it back to base safely.
