I am going to archive the old and put a new one at this beautiful Veteran's Memorial. This cache is in memory of my cousin who was killed in Somalia on a Black Hawk helicopter.
This memorial is the brain child of Jim Kellar. When he came home from Vietnam, there was no big fanfare to welcome the soldiers back. His dream was to build this memorial for all veteran's from all over the United States, no matter where they were from or what branch of the service they were in. With the help of lots of donations and hard work from many volunteers, his dream is coming true. There eventually will be restrooms and much more here.
The flags are removed during winter, but once the 100 American Flags and 50 state flags are unfurled, the memorial is a beautiful site to see.
Take some time to walk around and see what all is here - there is still lots more to come.
