The Dancing Men Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wymondham Wanderers: Visited the site today and the area of the cache is very soggy and not at all nice. When we placed the cache last summer we had a picnic close to the hiding place, if we had done that today I think we would have drowned!! SO we have decided to close this one down (our 2nd today - boo hoo!) It is also quite a drive from our home so if anyone want to place a new one in the area feel free.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a small 'lock and lock' style box hidden on a marked footpath just off the Weavers Way.

The above co-ordinates are for parking. The cache is a short walk from here. This cache is based on a Sherlock Holmes story located in Norfolk. Abe Slaney an American gangster from Chicago came to England to trace his childhood sweet heart and hopefully take her back to America with him. On arrival in England he headed up to Norfolk and found lodging in a farm. He then took a walk into the countryside to hide a small box of personal possessions that he did not want to fall into the wrong hands. He then wrote the co-ordinates for the hiding place in the strange 'Dancing Men' code that the gang used to communicate with each other. After his arrest in Norfolk the piece of paper was lost..... until now. You will find a facsimile of the note below. To find the treasure you must de-code the message. Good Luck!
