We hope that this cache will have a long life and shelter a lot of
travel bugs and geocoins. Now it is easier to hide travel bug in
St.Petersburg.
Although this cache is hidden not in the center of the city, it
can
be easy reached. Just take the first (red) line of the metro
and go out on Polytechnicheskaya station. Cache is situated in the
park of Polytechnic University, about 10 minutes of walk from the
metro station.
St.Petersburg Polytechnic University was founded more than 100
years ago, and it is one of well known Russian universities. Some
information about it you can find
here. Buildings of the University and the park nearby them are
architectural and landscape relics. In the beginning of XX century
it was one of the first in Russia "university town", like Oxford or
Cambridge. All systems of its life support are autonomous, and they
were desined and implemented very carefully. Main building (see
photo) is one of the best study buildings in St.Petersburg. Many
building here are examples of different architectural styles. One
of the sightseeings in the park is unusual water tower (see photo).
Now it is restored and it is situated not far from the cache, so
you can see it in your way from metro station.
Cache container is a square box, its size is 17*17*7.5 cm, volume
is about 2 litres. Cache is well camouflaged. It is better to use
gloves then you will get it.
