There are students out there who, every August begin to dread that fateful day. You know the day... There are others who live for one thing in August. The hard work, the dedication and the talent required for the fun part of the fall -- HALFTIME! Parents spend huge amounts of money, eat fast food way too often (nachos on Friday), drive long distances and cheer themselves silly.
This cache is in dedication to all high school marching band members and their boosters but especially to one of the best in the nation, and one that I had the privilege of being in, the James Bowie Outdoor Performing Ensemble. You can find them here practicing just about every Monday and Tuesday evening August through October. It is a sport, it is an art, it's an addiction. All of us who are part of it have learned to grit our teeth and just "Face the Music".
We encourage you to stop by one of our practices and just relax and enjoy the music.
On Saturdays there is a farmers market in the area, so if you do search then, please be as stealthy as possible to prevent mugglings.
Congrats to Tablespoons who took time out of their busy marching band schedule to claim a FTF!!!
