The Jacobus Vanderveer House constructed circa 1772 with a nineteenth century addition in 1813. The Vanderveer house is significant in the U.S. Revolution War Military History and stands as the only remaining structure associated with the Continintal Artillery encampment in nearby Pluckemin during the winter of 1778-1779, the First, Second, and Third Continental Artillery, artificers, and armourers, were under the Command of Gen. Henry Knox at the surrounding 12 acre cantonment.
Parking is available on site or to improve the stroll, use nearby River Road Park.
