Secret Valentine Cache Exchange Event Cache

This is an Event with a twist...It is a two part event.  It is also a Secret Valentine Exchange! You do not have to participate in the Secret Valentine exchange  to log the event as a find; but if you do wish to participate in the Secret Valentine exchange you must follow these rules and don't be late for the first part of this event. After the first part we will meet up at the coordinates again to chat, eat, mingle and if you choose meet up with your secret Valentine. Please read the following instructions carefully so that no one is disappointed.

The first part of the event will only be 30 minutes long. We will meet in the parking lot of Paesano's Itailian Resturant for a micro exchange at 3:30pm sharp. After this everyone will have chosen a Secret Valentine micro from the selection, pose for a quick group photo and disperse to find thier hidden Secret Valentine cache. At 5:00pm-6:30pm we will meet back at Paesano's Itailian Resturant for the meet, greet and eats. You do not have to participate in the first part of the Secret Valentine exchange and no purchase necessary to attend/log this event. All are welcome to just join us.

***Because these will not be permanent caches, you do not have to follow the normal rules for placement distance from an existing cache. But please respect private and restricted property in choosing your placement hide.
You can be as creative as you want in hiding your Secret Valentine Cache. You can make it a traditional type cache, or you can make it a puzzle-cache or multi-cache to make the hunt more fun. Just remember the recipient may not be an experienced cacher. Use your imagination!
Please identify any unique attributes your cache requires special tools or is not wheel-chair accessible. That way if someone is not comfortable with this location, they can exchange for a different cache.***

Remember... The first part of this event  is a 30 minute event, so don't be late! This is where everyone who wishes to participate in the Secret Valentine exchange will drop off and pick up a micro cache container with the coordinates to the Secret Valentine gift hide inside. See rules below.

Micro Container exchange rules:

1) Prior to coming to the event, you must hide a gift (Valentine Cache) to be exchanged with another geocacher somewhere within 5 miles of the event location. The gift can be anything hiking related, unactivated geocoins, TB dog tags, swag items, cache containers or something outdoor related. Please use your own judgment in selecting your secret gift items and make sure that you dont go over a 20 dollar limit. You may place your gift items in an inexpensive cache container (i.e. plastic ware, LNL or half your gift could be an ammo can along with your gift. etc. You get the idea ;) be creative ) and hide it to be found later that day. Make sure the container is weather resistant and critter-proof. Don't forget to mark a waypoint for your hidden gift for Step 2.

2) You must bring a Micro Container to the first part of this event. Inside the Micro Container will be a slip of paper with the coordinates of the Valentine Cache you hid for another cacher to find. In addition, write your geocaching name and cell phone number on the paper just in case the seeker needs a phone-a-friend to find their secret Valentine Cache.

3) At the event, the Micro Container will be placed in an individual bag and mixed up. Everyone who places a Micro container  will then be able to randomly choose another Micro Container. For those families with multiple cachers, you may bring more than one Micro Container but there must be one Secret Valentine Cache hidden for each Micro Container placed in a bag so everyone gets a cache.

4) After the Micro Container Exchange, we will take a group photo.

5) After the group photo, the event will be over and you may disperse to go find your Secret Valentine Cache. Remember... the entire cache is yours to keep including the container so make sure you take everything with you after the hunt. These containers are not to be left behind or published as a regular cache.

6) Optional: When you log the event as attended, you could thank the cacher who hid your Secret Valentine Cache for the gift and post pictures of the cache contents.
