Adopt-A-Highway
and it's that time of year again to clean it up
before the summer heat rolls
in.!
WHEN: Saturday, Nov
8th from
8:30am – 11:00am
WHERE: State Highway 78 between mile markers 84.5 and
86.2 near the conurbation of Ocotillo Wells, CA. POPULATION
150
This is a highway cleanup
NOT A
DESERT CLEAN UPso please stay within
40ft of the edge of the
road.
There will be a briefing at the posted coordinates. The briefing
will begin at 8 :30am to get
instructions, vests, and bags, take a group photo, and to sign
forms. We will then get started and work until about 11:00 am or
whenever the job is complete.
I suggest you bring water. You may find other items
helpful such as long pants, gloves, and sun screen.

Rules:
If possible, carpool to work site
Keep vehicles off the right-of-way of state highway
Make sure workers wear safety gear provided by CalTrans
Face oncoming traffic, Look out for danger and look out for each
other
Avoid overexertion
Do not remove hazardous substances
Do not pick up items on bridges or on the pavement
***A waiver must be signed by each participant in the
cleanup***
