Hall Memorial Garden Traditional Cache
Rubicon Cacher: Extensive renovations are planned with some already in progress. The Hall Memorial Garden is one of the areas marked for changes - it will be bigger and better. I am archiving this cache but will place one or more in the garden after renovations are complete.

A Micro Cache at the Dr. T. F. (Whitey) Hall Memorial Garden. There is a paved, wheelchair accessible trail through the garden. The cache is only about 2.5 feet from the trail edge. However, I am making this a 1.5 because it might be difficult for someone in a wheelchair to retrieve the cache. There is no need to go off the paved trail except the final 2 or 3 feet.
This lovely garden is located on the TVA reservation, Muscle Shoals, Alabama near the trail head for the TVA Nature Trails. The garden is maintained by the Shoals Wildflower Society, a chapter of the Alabama Wildflower Society.
At the time this cache was placed, there were not very many flowers in bloom. However, during the spring, the floral display is absolutely beautiful.
The main reason for this cache is to lead you to the wildflower garden and the TVA Nature Trails. I have very little information about Dr. Hall; I am still searching. I think that Dr. T. F. (Whitey) Hall was an outstanding biologist for the TVA for many years. I will add more information about him as I find it.
The Shoals Wildflower Society focuses on the fellowship of shared interest in wildflowers, seeks to promote knowledge, appreciation and use of native plants, and preserve areas of significant interest because of their native flora.
Please be aware that no plants or plant parts may be removed from federal property without specific permission. There has been a problem with people helping themselves to the native wildflowers in the garden and on the reservation. The area is now posted to insure that the public knows this rule.
Note: I used an average of 520 readings for the coordinates. I went back to the cache site this morning and the coordinates led me directly to a spot about 35 feet from the cache! So I did another set of 500+ readings and those coordinates worked fine this morning. Because of the heavy tree cover and the difficulty getting good coordinates, I will post a hint ... no, it is a spoiler.
