This cache was relocated on Feb. 24, 2006 because its former hiding spot ended up underwater - and that "pond" apparently shows up every winter.
There are two ways to approach this cache. The direct route can be quite slippery when wet, so use caution if going this way. For an easier, but longer hike, stay on the paved trail and go down to the bottom of the steps. Work your way toward the bay and approach the cache from the bottom side. You are looking for a 4-inch by 4-inch plastic snap lock container. Parking and the start of the trail are at these coordinates: N 44 37.406 W 124 03.796. Please re-hide the container well – a lot of people walk through this area and the cache is very near the trail.
Enjoy the sand dunes and the beach while you are here. Also, check out the virtual cache “Yaquina” located nearby.
