Near Whitehorse Lake

I caught my first fish at Whitehorse Lake near Williams, AZ. The campground is beautiful with big ponderosa pine trees.

To find White Pony without fail,
Take the high trail.
At the arrow,
catchers left go.
Not under a tree,
Before 4 after three.

We put in some great items to get the cache started:

- EatStayPlay geocoin
- Unknown soldier TB
- 2 lady bugs (glass and a bead)
- A purple rock
- High bounce ball
- Sandstone round
- Bicentennial fifty cent piece (since it was started on July 4th!)
- 20 pence coin from England

And of course, a log book and pencil.

These are by far my favorite kinds of caches...the type that takes you somewhere for the first time. I was up with my son (azcrazee) and his cub scout troop enjoying a great weekend of fun. Managed to get away for a bit and thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the lake. Great location. Sl TFTC

The sky was growing darker and we hurried around the lake to get to and from this cache. As we reached the bottom of the lake we noticed a whole bunch of people sitting near some jeeps. This of course would have been a better place to park other than the day use area at Whitehorse Lake and Campground. Anyway we believe these jeepster people signed in on the log before we arrived.
It was a quick out and back to a small forest cache.

Grandma G and I found this one while on a hike around the lake. Found with out too much trouble. Left a geocoin and took a wooden nickle. The geocoin we brought back from Alaska a couple of weeks ago. Hope it gets moving around the lower 48. TFTC.
