ONE OF THE OLDEST CACHES IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!



The cache is located off of the Henry Shamma memorial trail with great views of L.A. This is not a difficult hike, but could be because there are so many ways to get to this spot. This hike is mostly uphill, but some of the trails are wide and all are clear.

The cache is just off the trail, in a small decon container, so use discretion in your hunt. Once the vegetation has sufficiently recovered from the Griffith Park fires, we will replace the decon container with a larger ammo-box. This is a great area for dogs, but take note that a lot of people walk their dogs off leash. No biking. There are MANY trails to this spot, so we've included some hints and a route below that will take you there through a variety of scenery. This route is just under 2 miles, one way. If you're familiar with the area, there are plenty of starting places, so you may want to try your own route. On a clear day the view is amazing. You may want your camera. Bring water, although if you take our route there's a fountain and picnic area along the way.
