A companion cache to TOHiker's "Above the Falls" (GCKJ33).
As the name implies, it's in La Jolla Canyon, before you reach the Falls. You can get a nice view of the Falls from here (they're seasonal, so no guarantee that they will have water in them when you go) and it is close enough to the parking area that even the Ventura_kids might go for it

The cache is a camo-duct taped, 6 oz. capacity, plastic sample bottle with a green-painted lid. It has a log sheet and a green pen. It won't hold anything much more than a couple of Matchbox cars, or a small TB.

We strongly encourage you to park in the La Jolla parking lot; five bucks in the "iron ranger" is a cheap price to pay to help keep this area open and looking nice. Be sure to bring water! There may or may not be water at the bathrooms that are just up the trail from the parking area. Note that this building might not be open.

There are more caches up the canyon and in La Jolla Valley, as well as in the hills surrounding this area. The Ray Miller Trail also has caches, as does the Overlook Trail on the ridge to the east. You can easily spend all of a summer's day geocaching out here

The hint might help you find it, but you can still reach it from trail level. Have fun!

Jim came out for a short hike with his sister, Lenore. He's trying to get back into shape after surgery, and this was a nice day for it Saw a number of flowers in bloom, and checked up on the caches in the canyon. All of them are in good shape, although we'll need to replace the container soon.
