Tukwila has seven trails that cut through residential areas or that connect residential to the business areas. This cache is second in the Tukwila Trail series and, fittingly, is located on Tukwila Trail #2.
A WASP NEST IS IN THE GENERAL AREA OF THIS CACHE. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.
Tukwila Trails are just that, trails located in Tukwila that are about 1/2 mile or less in length. They are great for people who live or work in the area and most folks don't realize this network of trails even exists, unless they live right on one of them.
This particular trail actually connects to Tukwila Trail #1 at the bottom end. It is a fairly steep trail that runs through a greenbelt.
No bushwacking is required, cache is within easy reach of the trail. In fact, your feet will NOT leave the trail to capture this cache.
Again, this is in a residential area, specifically a couple of houses and an apartment community are immediately adjacent. I would use common sense regarding the time of day when attempting this cache.
There is parking available at 47.28.286, 122.15.321, at the Teamsters office building. This is the trailhead for Tukwila Trail #1. The junction for Tukwila Trail #2 is about 100 yards or so in.
As of 06/02/2005 this has been upgraded to a small container. You still need to bring your own pen.
