This cache is located on the "island" in the middle Nicasio
Reservoir, a man-made lake created in 1961 when a number of farms
were flooded. It was created as a source of drinking water (but has
rarely ever been used for that purpose).
Park at N38 05.533 W122 44.680 and find your way around the island.
When this cache was placed (late August), the water level was low
enough that you can actually walk completely around the island by
staying close to the water. It's about a 2 hour / 4 mile walk to go
the whole way around. Hiking boots are recommended. I have no idea
what it would be like to try following the edge of the water when
the water levels are high.
As you go around the island you'll notice some large ugly houses
that were apparently approved during the 1970s. They spoil an
otherwise very rural setting. This cache has a view of a big brown
monster house. See the monster house then slay the other monster to
get to the cache.
