A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.
A WWFM is a World-Wide Flash Mob for Geocachers. This event will be one small part of WWFM V. Currently there are 150 other events in 20 countries, including 6 others in Australia. Many Canberra geocachers participated in WWFM II at Aspen Island (GC16VD3), WWFM III at the Australian War Memorial (GC19Y0Q) and WWFM IV at Woden Park (GC1HABC). At both of the first two events there were over 65 people in attendance and 43 registered cachers, and even at the last event at 5am we managed to get 37 people showing up! Can we get even more this time???
WHEN: This event will begin precisely at midnight on Saturday, May 2nd.
The WWFM will be only 15 minutes long (so the event will conclude on Sunday 3rd May). You MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim this event.
WHERE: On the lakefront/dock in Parkes Place – as per the posted coords.
WEAR: Something to make everyone laugh.... (if nothing else, try to wear a funny/silly hat).
WHAT: It's World Laugher Day on Sunday 3rd, so we are going to spend a minute laughing when the photo is taken!
There will be a special WWFM geocoin for the person who makes me laugh the loudest, plus some pathtags for lucky door prizes, but you MUST be dressed up to qualify.
VOLUNTEER HELPER NEEDED: Official photographer – someone to set up a tripod/camera with a timer for the formal group photo.
Given the late hour of this event, there will be no formal post-event gathering. I also ask that there is no GC/TB trading at this event, unless you want to log in/out personal items for tracking purposes.
Note – if you are planning to attend this event, I suggest you put a watch on this cache – then you will be able to see any last minute information that is posted.
