Geocache Description:

10 years ago on 3rd May 2000 in response to the US government turning off the Selective Availability (SA) on the global positioning satellites the first Geocache was hidden by Dave Ulmer near Beaver Creek, Oregon. Within a few days this geocache was found several times and Geocaching was born.

To celebrate this event, between 31st April and 3rd May, 100s of Geocaching events are being held across the world to celebrate the birth of Geocaching. Please join us at The Old Lock and Weir Inn, Hanham Mills, and raise a glass with us to wish Geocaching a happy 10th birthday. We shall be there from 1pm to at least 3pm, outside if the weather is good to us or inside if not, and don't forget your party hats .

The pub serves food from 11am to 3pm, (details can be found here http://www.lockandweir.com/dining.htm ) and is dog (on lead) and child friendly. There is plenty of parking and lots of caches nearby.
