Park in the layby. Either follow the rough path or cut 'across country.' The path takes you over the streams that become waterfalls into the Annick Water some distance below. Take great care.
A lovely piece of woodland with a very rare huge Black Poplar tree (a must see) in the furthest top 'corner' - very characteristic bark. The drop to the river below makes caution necessary unless you take a more 'inland route' with some steep parts with some brambles and thorns. Please replace the camouflage carefully.
Lots of wildflowers - Pignut, Wood Anemone, Bluebells, etc.
Pity about the rubbish!
See the Wikipedia article on 'Cunninghamhead' for photographs of the Poplar, local history, etc.
