Geocache Description:

This cache is located near a great viewpoint of the Crags and surrounding land. It is west of the road into the Crags Campground on the west side of Pikes Peak in the Pike National Forest.

The hike is a little over one mile, one way with a climb from about 9700 feet to about 10,720 feet. Most of the trail is an old road with some very steep spots, so it is a workout.

You can park at a turnout just after leaving the Mennonite Camp property. The old road isn’t going to be obvious until you have walked a few hundred feet to the south. If the stream is running high, you might not be able to cross where the old road did. There were a couple of logs across the stream a short distance downstream when I was there.

Update 2010: A couple of small logs have been placed across the stream close to where the old road crossed so there are now two places to cross.
