This cache is located in Pipestem Resort State Park in Summers County, West Virginia.
This is a fairly easy cache to find, so if you plan on hunting for the Pipestem Crypto Cache on the same visit, you should do this one first. It is located under a rock and covered with a couple other rocks and leaves to help camouflage it since it is located very near where the Dogwood Trail and a horse path intersect. Please be sure to cover it well after finding it, and be on the lookout for those “non-geocachers”! The easiest place to start for this one is the parking lot at the Nature Center, you will be very close.

We put quite a few items in this one to make it a fun find for everyone. We also put in several of our cache magnets, everyone can take one of these without needing to exchange anything for them. While at Pipestem, be sure to enjoy the many activities and recreational opportunities at the park. We jumped 6 deer walking in to place this cache. The surprising thing was that an old doe stayed bedded down and watched us the entire time we were placing the cache, and we were there about 30 minutes. She never moved, and we walked out a different route and came within 25 yards of her, and she just watched us the entire time. The cache was about 75 yards from where she was bedded down!

The initial contents of this cache are:

  • A funny shaped ink pen
  • Set of chop sticks (maybe somebody else can use them since I can’t!)
  • Antenna ball topper
  • Antibacterial telephone pad
  • Blank micro cassette
  • Set of golf tees with ball marker
  • Keychain
  • Small Swiss army knife
  • Flashlight keychain
  • Whoopee cushion
  • Several 911 stickers
  • Several band-aid shaped refrigerator magnets
  • Reflective stickers
  • Stress ruler
  • 15 minute telephone card
  • Wheresgeorge $2 bill
  • Jar opener
  • Slap wrap style reflective bracelet
  • Sunglass holder that fits on your sun visor
  • Sewing kit
  • Cache magnets
  • The book “Life and Death - The Story of a Hospital” that has been registered at www.bookcrossing.com. If you take this book, please make a journal entry at the website using the BCID number on the label inside the front cover, then release it into another geocache after you read it.

Enjoy your hunt for this cache!

Weather and other disasters kept from doing lots of caches at Pipestem but I had to get at least a few done.
I did this one as we were leaving today. No problem finding the cache It was in good condition.
I signed the logbook and took nothing. I did leave an O.K.I.C. Pathtag.

Thanks For The Cache!

Woke up to a very soggy morning on the final day of our "Last minute Pipestem weekend getaway" trip. Can't golf, so we decide to get a little muddy and grab a couple caches on our way out. Had a little trouble with bouncing Co-ordinates due to heavy cover, but found easily enough.

While back in West Virginia from Montana I replaced the old container with a water tight one and cleaned the contents. I also replaced the old logbook with a new one. Enjoy!
