You didn't think I'd make you walk 2 miles to over 12000 feet to find a micro did you?????? You're looking for another ammo can.
This cache is placed at the lower of the two Square Top Lakes. Just couldn't bring myself to carry the ammo can any further to the upper lake. LOL.
The trail starts at Guanella Pass at 11669 feet and the lower lake is at 12046. There's more elevation gain than you'd think at first glance as the trail has a few dips in it.
There are frequently fishermen at the lake, so exercise the usual discretion.

EXPECT DELAYS!!! Guanella Pass road (Park County 62) will be CLOSED to the public from 8-11 am and from 1-3 pm, M-F and 30 min delays outside the closure time.
The following areas affected by construction:
CLOSED - Geneva Creek Picnic Ground (PG), Whiteside Campground (CG), Duck Creek PG and dispersed camping within the construction area along the Guanella Pass corridor and the first 1.5 miles of FSR119.
Day parking ONLY or CLOSED if Trailhead (TH) is under construction - Threemile TH, Abyss/Burning Bear TH
OPEN - Burning Bear CG and Geneva Park CG
Mt. Bierstadt/Square Top – alternative access from Georgetown.
