Geocache Description:

Join in the fun as you spend a day in the magical world of Harry Potter. Learn spells, ancient runes and potions and even play quidditch.

This event will wander through central and western Pike County, stopping at many historic and scenic sites along the way. Activities for the whole family are included in this all day event. Meet at the Leaky Cauldron (above coordinates) to get your school supplies for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From there, attendees will hunt at their own pace until dinner. Check in will begin at 9:30am at Canal Park on Emmitt Avenue, in Waverly. The event will start promptly at 10am and end with dinner and prizes in the Great Hall at 5pm.

Entries at this time are limited to 40 individuals or teams. One vehicle per team, but as many teams or individuals as you can fit in a vehicle. You may play as an individual or as a team, but not both. Cost will be $10 per individual, $15 per team. Any funds left after the bills are paid will be donated to the Pebble Township Volunteer Fire Department.

There will likely be a coin minted for the event. I'm sure there is enough interest. These will not be available outside the event. Every team who participates will receive one. Extras may be available for purchase at the event. I will try to get one or two limited edition ones to raffle off for the fire department.

You don't have to know anything about the books by JK Rowling to play.

There will be many new permanent caches as well as some temporary ones for the event. About 20-30 caches total.

Many of the caches are handicapped accessible, at least until the last couple of feet (team up with someone's kid). It is possible to win the game without visiting the non-accessible caches.

Hotel accomodations are available in Waverly at the Amerihost and Piketon at the Comfort Inn. Chillicothe is only 20 minutes away and has several hotels. Camping is available at Lake White State Park and Pike Lake State Park (both will have event caches). Scioto Trails State Park is only 10 minutes away and has several caches, but will not be part of the event. Semi parking is available at the Plateau Truck Stop in Waverly. Let me know if you need a ride from there to the start of the event, where we can get you teamed up with someone with only four wheels!

There will be no pets permitted in the Great Hall.

Please contact me if you are allergic to pizza. We will be serving Ralph's pizza and cheesebread sticks. It's the greatest stuff in the world!

Check back here often for any changes and new information.
