Warning

Please note: To use the services of geocaching.com, you must agree to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

The I-5/Templin Hwy Travel Bug Hotel is a large ammo box that is intended to act as a stop over for travel bugs going North or South on the Grapevine.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE A TRAVEL BUG OR COIN FROM THIS TRAVEL BUG HOTEL UNLESS YOU LEAVE ONE IN ITS PLACE! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TRAVEL BUGS OR COINS TO TRADE, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DISCOVER THE CONTENTS OF THE HOTEL AND LEAVE THE BUGS AND COINS FOR THOSE THAT DO HAVE TRADES TO MAKE.

Please also be considerate and log the travel bug(s) you pick-up as soon as possible. Unfortunately some bugs have been unaccounted for and this is not fair to the travel bug owners who spend money on tags and an item to be a bug. --YJ&D

Although there are a large number of caches in this area (check out the zip code for Gorman or Castaic and you will see what I mean), there simply was no easy to find cache close to the interstate that could be used for a convenient easy stop off / transfer point for travel bugs. So I hope that this easy-to-find cache within easy access to I-5 North or South bound traffic will fit the bill.

As with any cache, especially those that are popular for travel bug trading, please be especially careful of muggles that may be in the area and be sure to try to camo the cache container as best as you can when you replace it.

I know I make several trips a year to the Bay Area and beyond and would have liked to have something like this along the way to help break up the monotony.

Enjoy!

Stopped by on a trip from Bay Area to San Diego with my five year old. Tried to take a very very direct approach before finding the more obvious path from the side of the road. Swapped a couple of TBs in and out. TFTC #369.
