Geocache Description:

Lock and Lock at Southtown in the Glovers Pond Preserve

Part of the Johnsonburg series.

Southtown is a ghost town.

Nothing remains but foundations.

In the 1800's, Southtown was a mining town. Workers here mined for silver at Jenny Jump.

It was a hard life. Working in the mines is a dangerous occupation. Disease was rampant in the swamps off of Shades of Death road.

Today there is little left of their struggles.

This cache is located off the old road amongst the old buildings. There are other structures in the area to be explored. I've heard rumors of an old school, but have never found it.

Hunting is allowed. Wear orange in season.

Enjoy!
