" Welcome to Tosohatchee"
This is a spoof on Dale n Barb's "Welcome To Series". ( I
hope they don't mind. I've been told imitation is the most sincere
form of flattery). This is a simple park n grab to entice more
folks to visit one of our favorite places to hike, cache and enjoy
some of the "REAL" Florida.
There is a $3 charge to enter the park unless you are 65 and
older or manage to claim the $3 FTF prize. At the sign-in kiosk be
sure to grab yer self a map. There are many well maintained dirt
roads and hiking trails out here and a wide range of wildlife. From
what I've been told you will also find some great fishing. Toso is
also host to some "Legendary Cache Hiders " like Cache& Keri,
The BoonieMan and Frogman just to name a few. Some of the caches
out here are hikes while others are just a short stroll. All are
well worth the trip. Pack a lunch and enjoy a ride or a hike
through some of the Best Florida has to offer.
In the Tosohatchee WMA/St Johns River area hunting is allowed
at different times of the year. You can check "Frog Mans" hunting
calendar at "www.tinyurl.com/techunts" or click here to see it now. If
you are in the area during hunting season, wear your orange or
bright colors.
