Our schedule:
Meet for breakfast (probably Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Hot
Chocolate, and Coffee) at 08:30 EST.
Cleanup begins 09:00 EST.
Potluck picnic around 12:00 EST (depending on the weather ,
temperature, and our enthusiasm).
If you are going to bring food, please post it with your "I Will
Attend" notice below. Thanks!
The 34
trolley stops at 61st and Baltimore, a short walk from the
CITO. If the SEPTA strike ends, you can use this mode of
transport.
There are lots of new urban caches in Philadelphia. This event
is a great opportunity to try the
various
cache
arcs which have been created.
By participating in this event you are building goodwill between
geocachers and the Fairmount Park commission. We will be working
with Joe Caesar again. He is a Cobbs Creek Park volunteer
coordinator and at his suggestion, we've chosen to remove trash and
invasive plants from a hillside overlooking a small playground and
picnic area. This spot is next to the newly renovated Cobbs Creek
recreational trail.
This area could use our help! There's also ample opportunity to
remove trash without bushwacking along the trail and around the
playground, if that's more to your liking.
Mr. Caesar will supply a large dumpster, some power tools for
removing the big stuff (I told you this will be fun!), and will be
on hand to provide guidance and a little park history. We'll supply
strong backs. If you have favorite heavy gardening implement,
please bring it along.
