This event will be all day Saturday Oct.
1st 2005 begining at 10am until dark, or overnite if you
like. Each person or group is asked to bring a sack lunch.
There are no stores for miles. Make sure to bring everything
you need including water — civilization is far away. There
will be two hikes, one just before lunch, and one Mid
afternoon. Both hikes will have some neat sites and some gps
finds. There may other hunts near the camp. A drawing for
some good door prizes will be after the days hikes, around
6pm. You must be there to win.
We will be camped at Lake Conasauga in the
Group Camping Area, called the Ball Field located just 1
mile from the main campground and is a large grassy field where
Cherokee Indians once played. It can accommodate large groups of
any size. And best of all it is FREE. This area has fire
rings and chemical flush toilets. There is NO running water. Be
sure to bring water with you.
The main camp ground which is one mile away is a
35-site campground with restrooms and drinking water on the shores
of Lake Conasauga. (no fishing this year). These sites cost $10.00
dollars per day.
Each family or group is responable for bringing
their own favorite camp food and cooking skills for you or your
family to enjoy at the evening camp fire that we will have for
everybody to enjoy. After we pig out , we will set around the fire
and tell some tall tails, and maybe somebody will tell a scarie
storie.
