2 Swans A Swimming And An Eagle In A Bare Tree Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

lamoracke: I really like this trail but I just do not see a spot to hide a cache out here that you do not have to fight blackberries or something to get to. Could not find the cache or the white rock that hid it, so saying goodbye.

Never thought I would get over 100 finders on it, so that is pretty cool.

Geocache Description:

Greetings. I was doing the geocache Mud Bugs and noticed there are no caches on this trail system south...plenty across the water but none on this trail which goes like 1 1/4 miles south. I decided to take a look. There were lots of cool things to see, I saw like 12 species of birds including 2 swans and a big bald eagle staring at me like 150 feet away. I also saw a beaver, well, I saw someone who said they saw a beaver.

That was the good news. The bad news is that there was almost no where to put caches on this trail. The side trails seem like they would cause erosion damage when it gets rainy and then don't even get me started on the blackberry possibilities. So, I decided to lower my standards of what I think would be an optimal cache and at least allow folks to have a find after a 1.50 mile walk. The hint should give you all the details to the find the cache.

If you keep going too much farther than the cache, you will reach private property. The end of the public trail is indicated by a log and the beginning of the trail becoming gravel again about 300 feet past the cache.

Trail is passable for a stroller albeit rocky. I bumped up the terrain a bit due to the fact its a long walk and there could be blackberries. If not for that, the terrain would be a 1.5. Cache is relatively near what could be an active duck hunting blind but they would be facing the other way.

to the best of my knowledge the public right of way ends about 300 feet west of the cache location spot and then you will see some garbage a little bit after which belongs to the landowner past the trail. There is private property around there and the owner does not take kindly to folks going there so please, do not go past the cache location, where the public trail ends. Northwest Trails has this trail on there and this cache is about 300 feet before the trail ends.
