On April 14, 2003, Geogeek65 was out for afternoon of geocaching. As darkness neared he noticed a cache that was close to home. Following the Spyderuser philosophy of navigation he figured to save time and try to make this one a "drive up". It turned out to be a decision that he would regret.
It was difficult to see as he drove thru the woods with his lights off so the rangers would not see him..."One more cache" he muttered to himself. Then it happened... He hit something and lost control of the vehicle sending it end over end and eventually coming to rest on it's roof.
The Geogeek was fatally injured and was found the next morning by a person walking with his dog.
This cache was placed where the accident happened. The remains of the vehicle are still there. Come visit and pay your respects to the deceased Geogeek65.
