Rhododendron Park is located at the corner of 68th Avenue NE and NE 170th Street in Kenmore, Washington. There is a parking lot off of NE 170th Street at N 47 45 153, W 122 14 868.
From 1920 until 1960, Kenmore Park was the State Flower Nursery, the leading grower of rhododendrons on the West Coast. Reginald Pearce purchased this land just after the conclusion of World War I, when he began not only collecting rare and one-of-a-kind rhodies, but also hybridizing his own varieties of the flower. Remnants of the Pearce family home, garden, and nursery have been retained as part of the history of Kenmore.
In addition to featuring a spectacular variety of rare rhododendrons, this beautifully landscaped park sports a playground with slides and swings, a grassy field, and an impressively gnarled tree right next to an extensive covered picnic shelter with barbeques.
The cache is a black bison tube.
