Special History in Cache!
Park at waypoint given which is at 1.5K on the Blakeburn Road.
Follow the rugged old Wagon Road. Good idea to do the Bear's Den
Mine (GC2C3ZD) first as it's on the way.
Quad OK all the way, but carry a chainsaw in case of deadfalls. If
you hike, it is about 5.5km and the trail is steep in places and
rises about 400m. Make sure you close the cattle gate after you,
both going in and coming back out. There is a lovely picnic area on
the main trail (also a waypoint). At about 4km. there is a 4-way
intersection (waypoint) where you turn left (ie South). About 600m
further on, turn right (North) uphill to reach the cache area and
lookout. There is a spectacular view of Coalmont and also Otter
Lake.
6" x 6" x 2" Clear Loc-N-Loc. Items left: toy car, toy boat, steel
blade, bungee cord, pliers, two 2011 50 cent pieces for
F-T-F, plus logbook, history, pen and pencil.
BEAR COUNTRY - DO NOT PLACE SCENTED ITEMS OR
FOODSTUFFS IN CACHE (even if sealed)
